I found the lessons to be extremely valuable. I think sometimes attending courses can lead to neglecting the Spiritual aspect of the religion. Sometimes you may concentrate too much on the academic aspect of religion, which is just as important, but don't implement the spiritual side as much. The lesson allows us to combine the two aspects and create a balanced outlook, upon which we can apply in our day to day lives. It gives us hope and optimism upon that which is to come. It gives a spiritual boost, not just a temporal one .
